Kathleen’Kate’ Wagner Baer, 87, of West Point, died Monday, February 2, 2015, at West Point Living Center in West Point. Memorial Mass 10:30am Friday, February 6, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Reverend Gerald Gonderinger as celebrant. Memorial visitation 9:00am to 8:00pm Thursday at Stokely Funeral Home with Guild Rosary at 1:30 and Wake Service with VFW Auxiliary Rites at 7:00pm. Burial at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society Relay for Life or St. Michael’s Cemetery. Kathleen Edith Clausen was born September 29, 1927, in West Point, to Lloyd & Louise (Herman) Clausen. She grew up in West Point and graduated from West Point High School in 1945. Kate married Henry’Duke’ Wagner on January 16, 1948. On January 1, 1984, Kate married Boyd Baer in West Point. Kate worked as a bookkeeper at Gambles until 1997 and then was elected Clerk of the District Court where she served for 12 years before retiring. Kate was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Guild and the VFW Auxiliary where she served as District Officer. She enjoyed camping and was a member of the Elkhorn Valley camping club. Kate loved to read and play cards. Kate is survived by her husband Boyd of West Point; sons Rodney (Cindy) Wagner of West Point, Kevin (Dianne) Wagner of Fairbury; daughter Vicky Wagner of Carlsbad, California; daughter-in-law Margaret Wagner of West Point; step-children Daniel (Nancy) Baer of Winside, David Baer of Elmwood, Roger (Terri) Baer of Branson, Missouri, Jenise (Scott) Erikson of Beatrice, Rebecca Duhr of Fairbanks, Alaska; brother Jim (Doris) Clausen of West Point; sisters Dorothy (Chris) Batenhorst of West Point, Ann Wolff of West Point and Bernice Seward of Deltona, Florida; 25 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by husband’Duke’ in 1977, sons Jim in 1998 and Al in 2013; and sister Ardene Wolff. Stokely Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
