Kathleen Jean “Kay” Bunn, 78, of West Point, NE died Thursday, March 3, 2011, at St. Francis Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will be 10:30 am Monday, March 7, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point with burial in St. Michael’s cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, March 6, from noon to 4:00 pm at Stokely Funeral Home with women’s rosary at 1:30 pm. Family will be receiving friends from 6:30-7:30 pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church followed by public rosary at 7:30 pm. Memorials can be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or St. Francis Memorial Hospital. Stokely Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Kathleen was born November 27, 1932 in West Point to Frank and Catherine Putjenter Surman. She attended Guardian Angels school. On April 10, 1950, Kathleen married Harold Bunn. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church and baked pies for various church activities. She spent most of her years at home taking care of her family. She loved her grandchildren and was happily expecting another great grandchild. Kathleen is survived by her husband, Harold, sons Darrell (Rita) Bunn, Randy Bunn both of West Point, daughters Linda Niles of West Point, Cindy (Bob) Petersen of Gretna and Judy Lase of West Point, twin sister Arlene(Bernie) Janning of Carroll, IA, sisters-in-law Viola Bunn, Darlene Wortman, Katie Surman, brother-in-law Fritz Wortman, 14 grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild, 9 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Wilford and Norbert Surman, sister Deloris Wortman, great grandson Zachary Niles and nephew Ronnie Remm.
