Karen I. Timmerman, 66, of West Point, died Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point, with Reverend Gerald Gonderinger as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Public Wake will be 7:30 pm. Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Guild and Christian Mothers Rosary will be 1:30 pm. Thursday at Stokely Funeral Home. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 5:00 pm. Thursday at the funeral home and continue at the church. Memorials may be made to Central Catholic Endowment, St. Joseph’s Retirement Community Foundation or St. Francis Hospital Foundation. Karen was born May 5, 1943 at Tarkio, MO to William and Georgia Brown Riley. She graduated from High School there and then attended Omaha Technical Community College in Omaha. Karen worked as a LPN in Omaha and Norfolk before moving to West Point in 1988. Karen was currently employed at St. Francis Memorial Hospital. On April 9, 1988, Karen married Paul Timmerman at St. Boniface Catholic Church at Monterey. The couple lived on the farm, before moving into West Point. Karen was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Guild and Christian Mothers. Karen was an active person with varied hobbies and interests. In 2003 the couple received the Ak-Sar-Ben Good Neighbor award. Survivors include her husband, Paul, of West Point, daughter Michelle (Rob) Petersenof Cameron, MO, sons Kirk Wallace of Tarkio, MO and Mark Barker of Tarkio, MO, sisters Kerry (Lennis) Millionand Pam (Jim) Davis both of Fairfax, MO, brothers Billy (Pat) Riley of Tarkio, MO, Larry Riley of Yale, OK, Duane Riley of Sedalia, MO, and Rick(Debbie) of Overton, grandchildren Dalton Erickson, Lydia Petersen, Brianna Wallace and Brandon Barker. She is preceded in death by a daughter Heidi Barker in 1963 and her parents.
