Justina Miller, 85, of Dodge, died Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Fremont Area Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be Friday, January 6 at 10:00am at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Reverend An Duy Phan as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery with lunch following at the church hall. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00pm to 7:00pm with a Vigil Service at 7:00pm all at church. Memorials may be made to St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. On September 21, 1931 on a farm south of Dodge, Frank and Catherine (Kaup) Langhorst welcomed their newborn daughter Justina Ann. Justina spent her youth experiencing farm life and attending school at Olean’s Sacred Heart Academy. Sacred Heart Catholic Church was the setting on May 5, 1953 for her marriage to Robert Fredrick Miller. The couple immediately setup farming and housekeeping then raising their family on the farm north west of Dodge. In 1984 they moved into Dodge, where Justina kept busy working at the Merry Martini and Parkview Home. With her beloved polka music playing in the background, Justina finally grew into retirement and enjoyed her life surrounded by her family and friends. Those who have gone before are her husband, Robert, on July 2, 2005, and brothers, Leonard (Mary), Conrad and Paul Langhorst. Surviving her loss: sons, Donald (Shirley) of Duncombe, IA, James (Susan) of North Platte, Paul of Dodge; daughters, Joan (Billy) Indra of Clarkson, Barbara Hansen of Lincoln, Laura (Ron) Kiefer, Little Falls, NY, and Annette (Dana) Miller of Indio, CA; brother Bill (Pat) Langhorst of Dodge; sisters, Irene ( Albert) Guenther of West Point, Mary Ann (Jack) Linnemann of Snyder, sister-in-law Arlene Langhorst of West Point; 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
