June E. Wuestewald, 87, of West Point died Thursday, March 13, 2008 at West Point Living Center. Services will be 2:00 pm. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point with Reverend Christian Meier officiating. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be noon until 8:00 pm. Friday with family receiving friends 5:00 pm. until 7:00 pm. Memorials may be made to Mount Hope Cemetery. Those wishing to leave on line condolences may do so at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com. June was born June 6, 1920 at Magnet, Nebraska to Arthur and Mary Moody Slagle. She moved to a farm south east of West Point as a young girl and attended country school. On August 19, 1941 she married Raymond Schulzkump in West Point. The couple farmed south east of West Point. Following Ray’s death in January of 1967, June moved into West Point. She was employed at Onie’s Cafe and babysat with her grandchildren. On June 8, 1968, she married Paul Wuestewald. He died in March of 1996. June was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She was a wonderful seamstress and loved to dance, especially the Polka. June enjoyed camping and was a member of the Rolling Eagles Camping Club. She never missed an opportunity to socialize and loved spending time with her family. June is survived by her daughter Sandie (Tom “Tucker”) Denton and son Ronald (Charlene) Schulzkump all of West Point, grandchildren Paula (Dan) Nesladek of West Point and David Schulzkump, sisters; Dorothy (Louis) Reimers and Donna (Lance) Peterson all of West Point and Betty Meier of North Bend, and brother Roland (LaVonne) Slagle of Laurel. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Ray and Paul, son-in-law Jan “Skeets” Clausen and brother Donald Slagle.
