Junavae Gail Feyerherm, 81, of Lenexa, Ks, formerly of West Point, died Thursday, July 24, 2008 at her home. Funeral services will be 10:30 Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point with Reverend Richard Bringewatt officiating. Burial will be at West Side Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 8:0o pm. Thursday with family receiving friends 5:00 pm. until 7:00 pm. at Stokely Funeral Home in West Point. Designated memorials are the National Parkinson Foundation, St. Luke Lutheran Church, Manhattan, or St. Paul Lutheran School, West Point. Funeral arrangements are being made by Stokely Funeral Home in West Point. Mrs. Feyerherm was born on October 3, 1926, in West Point to Harry and Myrtle CarlsonHenry. She grew up on the family farm between West Point and Oakland as the middle child of seven daughters. In 1943 she graduated from West Point High School and completed the secretarial program at Commercial Extension Business School in Omaha. She worked for the War Department in Omaha during World War II and the National Parks Service in Omaha. On August 25, 1951 at West Side Methodist Church she married Arlin Feyerherm, a high school classmate. They lived in Ames, Iowa, for two years. In 1953 they moved to Manhattan, Kansas where Mrs. Feyerherm was a homemaker. The Feyerherms lived in Manhattan until 1999. Mrs. Feyerherm was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church where she was active in the choir and the Womens’ Guild. She enjoyed doing many things including antiquing with her friends, cooking and baking, sewing, and refinishing furniture. Most important was the care that she showed to her family and others. Survivors include her husband, Arlin of Lenexa, daughters, Carol (Rick) Beier of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Joan (Jim) Yosten of West Point, Nebraska; son, Roger (Sarah) Feyerherm of Shawnee, Kansas, 8 grandchildren; Matthew Beier and John Beier, Andrew, Daniel, David, and Mark Yosten, Anna and Mitchell Feyerherm, sisters; Hazel (Harold) thompson of Moline, Illinois, Darlene (Jim) Strehle of West Point, and Maxine (Bob) Engelhardt of West Point and Fort. Meyers, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Minerva Erickson of Oakland, Nebraska, Vernelle Miller of Portland, Oregon, and Audrey Frerichs of Lenexa.
