Julia Ortmeier, 93, of West Point died May 13, 2006 at the West Point Living Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am. Tuesday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at St. Charles with Reverend Frank Lordemann as celebrant. Public Wake Services will be 7:30 pm. Monday at Stokely Funeral Home. Julia was born July 3, 1912 at Monterey to Kasper and Mary Ulrich Guenther. She attended school at St. Boniface Catholic School. On November 18, 1931, she married Joseph B. Ortmeier at St. Boniface Catholic Church at Monterey. The couple farmed at Howells until 1944 when they purchased a farm at St. Charles. Julia lived there the rest of her life. Julia was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and the Christian Mother’s Sodality. Survivors include daughter Lorraine (Ted) Uhlik of Malmo, sons LeRoy (Verdene) of West Point and Melvin (Marcie) of Dodge, 14 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband. Joseph, on August 24, 1947, infant daughter Mary, step daughter Irene Herman, brothers Frank and Al Guenther, and step grandson Russell Herman.
