Judy Bernard, 70, of West Point, died Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center in Omaham.emorial service will be Monday, September 12 at 10:30am at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Richard Bringewatt as officiant. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery with lunch following at the church hall. Visitation will be Sunday from 12:00pm to 5:00pm with family receiving friends from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Stokely Funeral Home. A memorial has been established. Judy Dianne Bernard was born on December 10, 1945 to Elra and Sylvia (Lebduska) Schademann in West Point. She attended St. Paul Elementary School and graduated from West Point Public High School in 1964. On April 25, 1970, Judy married Randy Bernard at St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point. The couple moved to Pender where Judy was a wonderful homemaker and mother. The couple then moved to West Point in 1977 where they started Bernard’s Restaurant. They retired from Bernard’s in 2007 and then moved onto the Schademann home place Northwest of West Point. Judy was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was an avid gardener and loved to read and spend time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Randy, of West Point; daughters, Sandi (Chuck) Westerman of Fremont, Jenny (Duane) Throener of West Point, and Kelly (Brian) Throener of Dodge; grandchildren Jacie Kubik, Hailey and Grant Westerman, Carter, Ashlynn, Kenadie, and Brynn Throener, and Keyden and Kyler Throener; mother, Sylvia Schademann of West Point; sisters, Alice (Mike) Epstein of Lincoln and Deb Schademann of West Point; brothers, Roy (Rebecca) of Kansas City, MO, Richard (Debbe) of Mayer, AZ, Randy (Rhonda) of Lawrence, KS, and Shep (Mardell) of West Point; sister-in-law, Peggy (Chris) Rasmussen of Omaha; and many nieces and nephews. Judy is preceded in death by her father, Elra Schademann; and sisters-in-law Debbie Aines and Susie Borsheim.
