Joseph P. Lichtenberg, 76, of Dodge, died January 1, 2006 at Parkview Nursing Home in Dodge. Funeral Services will be 10:30 am. Thursday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge with Reverend Dennis DeGuzman officiating. Public Wake Services will be 7:00 pm. Wednesday at Stokely Funeral Home in Dodge. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until wake time at Stokely Funeral Home in Dodge. Brurial will be at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery with military honors graveside. Memorials may be made to the Dodge American Legion or to Parkview. Those wishing to leave on line condolences may do so at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com. Joe was born December 25, 1929 on the family farm south of Dodge to Joseph and Philomena Ritzdorf Lichtenberg. He attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School. Joe served in the US Army from March of 1953 to March of 1955, working as a military police stationed in California. On October 7, 1953 he married Jeanette Brichacek at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Tabor. The couple returned to the farm and Joe found work driving truck for Ray Smeal, and being a mechanic at Spolak’s Repair and Fendrick’s Repair, retiring in 1997. He always enjoyed helping farmers in the field. In 1999 he moved to Parkview. Survivors include his wife Jeanette of Dodge, daughters Nadine (Curt) Anderson of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Joleen (Lynn) Wooldrik of Scribner, son Gary (Special friend LaDonna Myers) of King Lake, grandchildren Joshua and Jacob Anderson, Danielle and Cody Wooldrik. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Norbert. Stokely Funeral Home of Dodge is in charge of arrangements.
