Joseph Cappellano, 62, of Dodge, died Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Parkview Home in Dodge. Memorial service will be 10:00am on Tuesday, October 4 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Reverend An Duy Phan as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery with lunch following at the church hall. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm with a Vigil Service at 7:00pm at church. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Joseph Rossario Cappellano was born on October 11, 1953 to Ross and Carmella (Tomasella) Cappellano in Omaha. He was raised in Omaha and attended Omaha South High School. On December 27, 1975, Joe married Karen Dirkschneider in Omaha. The couple lived in Omaha and Snyder before moving to Dodge in 1983. Joe drove truck most of his adult life until his health no longer allowed him to do so. He moved to Parkview Home in 2005. Survivors include his wife, Karen, of Dodge; sons, Ross (Tiffany) and Joe both of Dodge, and Jason (Trinity) of Webster; daughter, Nicki (Jeremy) Meyer of West Point; 15 grandchildren; sisters, Jenny Beecham of Seattle, WA, Josephine (David) Kaiser of Omaha, Jackie (Joseph) Upson of Tuscon, AZ, and Jean (Farrell) Cappellano of Omaha; and mother-in-law Dolores Dirkschneider of Dodge. Joe is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Amy Cappellano; granddaughter, Haydyn Buss; brother-in-law, Michael Beecham; and father-in-law, Quintin Dirkschneider.
