John Joseph Wordekemper, 81, of West Point, died August 12, 2005 at Creighton Medical Center in Omaham.ass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point with Reverend Frank Lordemann as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Wake Services with Knights of Columbus Rosary will be 7:30 pm. at Stokely Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be made to Guardian Angels or Central Catholic Endowments. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 8:30 pm. Monday at the Funeral Home. John was born June 30, 1924 at West Point to Henry and Mary Stieren Wordekemper and grew up on the farm at St. Charles. He is a 1942 graduate of Guardian Angels. On June 22, 1948 he married Juliana Hugo at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point. For fifty-seven years he worked as a bookkeeper/salesman at Hugo Plumbing. John enjoyed fishing and hunting and had a passion for baseball. He enjoyed following his grandchildren in their activities. John was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife, Juliana, of West Point, sons Don (Pam), Dennis (Cheryl) and Allan(Michele) all of West Point, Dale (Beverly) of Storm Lake, IA, Father Thomas, O. S. B. of Richardton, North Dakota, and David (Barbara) of Fremont, grandchildren Terry, Ann, Jerry, Jean, Kari, Douglas, Lindsey, Eric, Debra, Brian, Garret, Clarissa, Jeremy, Aaron, and Brandon Wordekemper, great grandchildren Dan, Josh and Bennet Wordekemper. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Casper.
