Jennie A. Stecher, 91, of Dodge, died Saturday June 4, 2005 at Parkview Home in Dodge. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am. Wednesday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge with Reverend Dennis DeGuzman and Reverend Mark McKercher as concelebrants. American Legion Auxiliary rites followed by a Rosary will be at 3:00 pm. Tuesday and Public Wake Services will be 7:30 pm. Tuesday both at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Visitation will be noon until 8:30 pm. Tuesday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge. Burial will be at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Dodge Rescue Squad. Those wishing to leave on line condolences may do so at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com. Jennie was born November 26, 1913 to Louis and Terezie “Theresa” Kanicky Sup in Clarkson. She attended schools there and graduated from Clarkson High School in 1932. She taught school for 15 years, teaching at Hillyview School south of Dodge, Wilson Junior High at Leigh, and other rural schools. She attended Wayne State and Midland Colleges. On June 2, 1942 she married Jerry Stecher, at the home of her sister near Pierce. The couple owned and operated Dodge Oil Company where she did bookkeeping, retiring in 2000. Jennie was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and Alter Society, a fifty year member of American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliaries. For forty years she was on a bowling team. She enjoyed embroidering and playing Scrabble. Survivors include a daughter Connie (Joe) Carmody of Ventura, California, sons Randy(Linda) and Curtis (Becky) both of Dodge, grandchildren Theresa (Joey) Key, Jeff (Jenna) Carmody, Marsha (Bruce) Kruse, Kimberly Stecher, Julie Stecher, Miranda Stecher, Caroline (Justin) Poston, Kelly (Jon) Erb, J. J. Stecher (fiancee; Lindsay Epke) and Jody Stecher, great grandchildren Kaytlyn Key, Jasmine Carmody, Joshua, Kaitlyn, Chloe and Jayden Kruse, and Corry Erb. She is preceded in death by her husband, November 7, 1977, sisters Gabriella Klein, Daphne Carroll, and Louise Carl, brothers John, Edward, Louis and Emanuel Sup.
