Janice Mae (Stuckenschmidt) Woerner, 83, of West Point, died Saturday March 4, 2023 at Colonial Haven in Beemer.  Memorial service will be 10:30am on Saturday, March 18 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point with Rev. John Gierke officiating.  Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery with lunch following at the church hall.  Memorials may be to the family.  Arrangements by Stokely Funeral Home.

Janice Mae Stuckenschmidt was born January 4, 1940 to Alvin and Hildegard Stuckenschmidt.  Janice attended West Point Public Schools. She was baptized and confirmed.  On May 25, 1957, she married Fred Woerner Jr. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Pender.  The couple made their home in West Point where Janice was a stay-at-home mom raising their kids.  She enjoyed canning, cooking, and sewing and playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Janice made the best Texas Brownie’s in the world.  She was a very talented seamstress.  She sold Amway for several years and worked for the City of West Point as a meter reader.   She assisted Fred with Woerner Garbage Service.

Survivors include her daughter Cindy (Paul) Norton of Craig, son Mike Woerner of West Point, daughter Pam (Brian) Hunsicker of Aurora, Colorado, son Robert Woerner of West Point; grandchildren Jamie Norton, Alyssa (Jeremiah) Blomker and Courtney Norton, Tina Lang, Kerie Ehlers, Brady Woerner, Samantha and Shelby Pauni, Justin, Steven, and Trevor Hunsicker; great grandchildren Alexa, Brynn, Amon, Avery, Blayr, Brooks, Bria, Tate, Martyn, Addison and Creighton; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred, on March 6, 2010; parents, infant son Fred Alvin; sister Judy Kramer, brother Lauren Stuckenschmidt, and granddaughter Angela Bryan.
