James Christopher Bales, 52, of West Point died March 22, 2005 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital. Graveside Services will be 11:00 am. Saturday at St. Michael’s Cemetery in West Point with Rev. Gerald Gonderinger officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Assoc. Those wishing to sign the register may do so 9:00 am. until 7:00 pm. Friday with family present 5:00 pm. until 7:00 pm. or on line at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com. Jim was born January 30, 1953 at Sioux City, Iowa to Thomas and Ramona Christ Bales. He attended Guardian Angels and Central Catholic graduating in 1971. In 1971, he married Nancy Schulzkump. Jim worked as mechanic, did road construction and was employed by Smeal Manufacturing. Jim enjoyed spending his time with friends and family. He also was fascinated with air planes, especially Bombers. Survivors include a daughter Tabitha (Mike) Larsen of West Point, sons Troy (Tina) of Wisner and Travis (Janice) of San Diego, CA, his parents Tom and Ramona Bales of West Point, sister Mary Trevino of Norfolk brothers Charles and Glen (Tina) both of Ft. Collins, CO, grandchildren Zachary, Trinity and Titus Bales, Kenny Baker, Morgan, Seth, Destiny and Malikye Bales, Joshua, Angela and Summer Larsen. He is preceded in death by his sister Beverly in 1998. Stokely Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
