Irene E. Von Seggern, 85, of West Point, died Monday April 4, 2011 at West Point Living Center. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church with Reverend Chris Meier officiating. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be noon until 8:00 pm. Wednesday, with family present 5:00 pm. until 7:00 pm. at Stokely Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church. Stokely Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Irene was born June 5, 1925, on the farm near Bancroft in Cuming County, to Carl Ernest and Anna (Carlson) Carlson. She attended country school dist. #22. On January 28, 1951, Irene married Marvin Von Seggern at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point. The couple farmed in the Scribner area until moving to a farm north east of West Point in 1959. Irene was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed counted cross stitch and crossword puzzles. Survivors include her husband, Marvin of West Point, daughter Roxanne Von Seggern of West Point, sisters Alice Blanknagel of Beemer, Harriet Larson of Pender, Betty (Ralph) Woerman of Oakland, and Doris (Lloyd) Olson of Tekamah, brother Ernest J (Christine) Carlson of Marietta, GA, and sister in law Gertrude Carlson of Bancroft. She is preceded in death by brother Roy Carlson and a brother in infancy.
