Hyle H. Hensel, 79, of West Point, died Saturday, March 19, 2011, at University of Nebraska Hospital in Omaha. Funeral Services will be 10:30 am. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church with Reverend Chris Meier officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 8:00 pm. Wednesday with family receiving friends 6:00 pm. until 8:00 pm. at Stokely Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mount Hope Cemetery or American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Hyle was born on the family farm north east of West Point to Herman and Esther (Gerhardt) Hensel. He attended District 25 Country School and was a 1950 graduate of West Point High School. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Seoul, Korea. On January 20, 1957, Hyle married Donna Stafford at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point. The couple continued to farm the farm that Hyle was born on, and spent his entire life on. Hyle was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, VFW, and was president of the Rural Water District. He was a member of and past board member of Cuming County Feeders. He was a director of F & M Bank, and had previously served on the Dist. 25 School Board and FHA Board. Survivors includehis wife, Donna, of West Point, daughter Holly (Mark) Fritsche of McCook, sons Kurt (Linda) Hensel and Clint Hensel all of West Point, sister Elaine Limbaugh of West Linn, OR, grandchildren Amanda, Kyle, and Todd Hensel, Katelyn and Jacob Fritsche, nieces and nephew. He is preceded in death by his parents.
