Herman Joseph Franzluebbers, 86, of Dodge, died April 19, 2006 at Parkview Nursing Home in Dodge. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Olean with Reverend Dennis DeGuzman as celebrant. A Rosary will be recited Friday at 3:00 pm. and Wake Services will be Friday at 7:30 both open to the public and both at the Church in Olean. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Cemetery or the Benedictine Mission House at Schuyler. Visitation will be 2:00 pm. until 8:00 pm. Friday at the Church. Those wishing to leave on line condolences may do so at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com. Herman was born August 1, 1919 on the farm near Monterey to George and Frances Ortmeier Franzluebbers. He attended school at St. Boniface Catholic School until he was needed on the farm because of his father’s health. On June 5, 1951, he married Catherine Ruskamp at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Olean. The couple farmed North West of Dodge. Herman gradually retired in the 1990’s. Herman was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He loved playing the accordion for the Moostash Joe Band, playing all over the mid west, Hawaii, Germany and Austria. Survivors include daughters Karen (Jim) Hunke of Plymouth Minnesota, Linda (Jerry) Thomsen of Omaha, Marilyn (Glenn) Moberg of Papillion, Doris (Randy) Ortmeier of Dodge, and Diane (Mike) Cech of Fremont, sons Allan (Bonnie) and Daniel of West Point, Duane (Bonnie) of Staplehurst and Glen (Kelly) of Fremont, sisters Josephine Kampschneider of Dodge, Caroline Kampschneider and Ann Steffensmeier of Howells, Catherine Franzluebbers of Hayden, Idaho, Sister M. Georgiana Franzluebbers and Sister M. Frances Franzluebbers of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Rose Gentrup of West Point, brother Bernard (Lillian) Franzluebbers of Dodge, sister in law Margaret Franzluebbers of West Point, and 17 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Catherine, March 28, 2001, his parents, brother John, an infant brother and granddaughter Erin Franzluebbers
