Helen M. Wieneke 84, of West Point died Saturday, May 2, 2009 at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point with Reverend Gerald Gonderinger as celebrant. Cremation will follow with burial at St. Michael’s Cemetery at a later date. Guild Rosary will be 1:30 pm. Monday at Stokely Funeral Home and public wake services will be 7:00 pm. Monday both at Stokely Funeral Home. Memorials may be given as Mass stipends. Helen was born June 30, 1924 in West Point to Steve and Gertrude Goeken Wieneke. The family farmed south east of West Point, moving into town in 1956. Helen worked for Hested’s Ben Franklin for 35 years, retiring in the mid 1980’s. Helen was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Guild. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and taking care of her cats. Survivors include her brother Fred, of West Point and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister Adella. Stokely Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
