Helen K. Tomka, 95 of Dodge, died January 8, 2008 at Fremont Area Medical Center in Fremont. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am. Saturday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Reverend Patrick McLaughlin as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery. Christian Mothers Rosary will be 3:00 pm. Friday and Public Wake Services will be 7:30 pm. Friday both at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Memorials may be made to St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church or to St. Wenceslaus Catholic School Endowment. On line condolences may be made at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com. Stokely Funeral Home of Dodge is in charge of arrangements. Helen was born April 30, 1912 at Dodge to Joseph and Anna Maresh Kresl. She grew up and attended schools there. On November 17, 1931, Helen married Emil Tomka. The couple made their home in Dodge where Helen was a homemaker. Helen was a member of St. Wenceslas Catholic Church, Altar Society and Christian Mothers. She was a quiet person who dedicated herself to church and family. Survivors include daughters Lois (Gordon) pilmore of Dodge and Judith (Joseph) Hurd of Omaha, sons Norman of Dodge and Jim (Mary Lou) of Lincoln, grandchildren; Scott (Jennifer) Tomka, Kevin (Julie) Tomka, Lisa (Sean) Gabel, Debra (Rich) Pruss, Randy (Jane) Mahnke, Kyle and Justin Tomka and Amanda and Emily Hurd, great grandchildren; Samuel and Charlie Tomka, Cameron, Anna and Bryce Tomka, Jack and Kate Gabel, Colton Pruss, Jordan, Kaitlyn, Connor and Alexa Mahnke. She is preceded in death by her husband, Emil, on September 26, 1984 and a daughter-in-law, Rose Tomka.
