Glenwood L. “Glen” Rush, 75, of West Point died September 20, 2005 at Colonial Haven Nursing Home at Beemer. Services will be 10:00 am. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point with Reverend Carl Kramer officiating. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mount Hope Cemetery or to West Point Rescue. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 8:00 pm. Thursday at Stokely Funeral Home in West Point. Those wishing to leave on line condolences may do so at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com. Glen was born October 27, 1929 at Sloan, Iowa to Lynn and Grace Dubois Rush. As a small child the family moved to West Point where Glen attended school, graduating from West Point Public High in 1948. He then attended trade school in Norfolk. Glen worked as a linotype operator for the Republican newspaper in West Point. In 1952 he married Anita Wickert. The young family moved to Washington State in 1957 where Glen worked in commercial printing. The couple divorced in 1960. In 1968 he returned to West Point where he owned and operated Glen’s Coffee Shop, selling out in 1980. In 1973 he built Rush’s Drive In, retiring in August of 2005. On July 28, 1988, he married Jeannie Jindra and were later divorced. Survivors include sons Gary and Robin both of West Point, sister Gwen (Tom) Lindell of San Clemente, California. He is preceded in death by his parents.
