Geraldine R. “Geri” Yosten, 77, of West Point, died August 1, 2007 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in with Reverend Frank Lordemann as celebrant. Guild and Christian Mother’s Rosary will be 1:30 Thursday at Stokely Funeral Home. Public Wake Series will be 7:30 pm. Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Choir. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 4:00 pm. at Stokely Funeral Home, and then continue at the church. Those wishing to leave on line condolences may do so at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com. Geri was born July 18, 1930 at West Point to Andrew and Marie Koemmann Loethen and grew up on the farm. She attended Guardian Angels Catholic School graduating with the class of 1948. She attended business school in Omaha and was employed at Gates Steel. On September 23, 1953 she married Daniel Yosten at St. Mary’s Church in West Point. The couple lived in Lincoln and various communities before settling into West Point in 1959. In 1964, they purchased the Coast to Coast Store where Geri worked as a clerk and bookkeeper until the time of her death. Geri was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where she sang in the church choirs, she was a member of Guild and Christian Mothers and was active in prayer groups. She enjoyed traveling, especially her pilgrimage to Medjugorje. Geri was truly a family matriarch. Survivors include her husband, Dan, of West Point, daughters; kathy (Rick) Doescher, Lori Heimann and Lisa Siebrandt, sons; Jim (Joanie), John (Robin), Tom (Lori), Bob (Debbie), andPat (Lisa) all of West Point and Matt of Aspen, Colorado, grandchildren; andy, Danny, David and Mark Yosten, Jared, Allison, Jeremy and Justin Yosten, Kylie, Jay, and Jordan Yosten, Nicole, Brooke, and Nathanial Yosten, Sydney and Jacob Yosten, Eric, Shauna, Kristen and Adam Doescher, April (Matt) Ebel, Joey, Tony, Geri and Brandon Heimann, Gina and Katie Siebrandt, sister in law Jeanette (Harold) Schmader of West Point. She is preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter Mary Therese.
