Gerald H. Kreikemeier, 74, of Fremont, died September 29, 2009 at his home. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am. Friday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge with Reverend Patrick McLaughlin as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery with Military Honors provided by Dodge American Legion. Public Wake will be 7:00 pm. Thursday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge with visitation 2:00 pm. until 8:00 pm. Memorials may be made to St. Wenceslaus or St. Patrick’s Catholic Churches. Stokely Funeral Home in Dodge is in charge of arrangements. Gerald was born May 24, 1935 on a farm near Monterey to Adolph and Margaret Batenhorst Kreikemeier. He attended school at St. Boniface and Guardian Angels in West Point. Gerald served in the US Army from October of 1954 until September of 1956. On January 28, 1958 he married Patricia Uher in Dodge. The couple farmed near Monterey before settling south of Dodge. They farmed there until retiring to Fremont in 1998. Gerald was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and former member of St. Wenceslaus. He belonged to the Dodge American Legion. Gerald enjoyed helping his sons on the farm, boating, fishing, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. He was loved and will be missed by his wife Pat, of Fremont, sons Larry (Donna) Kreikemeier of Fremont, and Randy (Mary) Kreikemeier of Scribner, daughters Terri (Mike) Dirkschneider of Dodge and Jean (Reed) Magstadt of Lincoln, grandchildren Scott (Kim) Kreikemeier, Luke and Jamie Kreikemeier, Carla, Tony, and Rick Dirkschneider, Kayla and Ben Magstadt, Brittnie, Nicole and Jaki Kreikemeier, brothers Arnold (Marilyn) Kreikemeier, Adolph, Jr. (Margaret) Kreikemeier, Gene (Sue) Kreikemeier, sisters Imelda (Leonard) Peatrowsky and Germaine (Bill) Kaup. He is preceded in death by his parents, twin brother Jerome, brother Francis and his wife Jeanie, Raymond and Alfred and a sister Dorothy.
