Genevieve Margaret Strehle, 87, of West Point, died February 28, 2007 at West Point Living Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Reverend Gerald Gonderinger as celebrant. Ladies Rosary will be 1:30 pm. Friday and Public Wake with VFW Auxiliary Rites will be 7:00 pm. Friday all at Stokely Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Guardian Angels or Central Catholic Endowments. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 8:00 pm. Genevieve was born July 14, 1919 in Chicago, IL to Raoul E. and Lillian Wilde Cyrier. At age 6 months she moved with her family, where she resided the rest of her life. She attended Guardian Angels School and graduated from West Point Public High School with the class of 1937. On October 25, 1939, she married Frank C. Strehle. Genevieve was employed as clerk of Cuming County Court for 10 years and then served as Clerk of District Court retiring the mid 1980’s. She moved to the West Point Living Center in November of 2000. Genevieve was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Guild, Christian Mothers, Good Life and VFW Auxiliary. She loved her house plants, especially her African Violets. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards and was ready to go fishing anytime. Her pride and joy were her home grown roses which she shared with everyone. Survivors include her daughter Mary Jean (Irvin) Hagedorn of West Point, son Robert (Diane Strehle of Eugene Oregon, sister in law Mathilda Ortmeier of West Point, grandsons Matthew, Benjamin, and Philip Strehle, Scott, Jeff, Brian and Kevin Hagedorn, great grandchildren Hannah and Kayla Hagedorn. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank, in 1996, son Edward in 1990, and brother Harold Cyrier.
