Genevieve Buse, 88, of West Point died Saturday, August 01, 2009 at Colonial Haven Nursing Home in Beemer. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point with Reverend Harold Buse as celebrant. Guild Rosary will be 1:30 pm. Tuesday at Stokely Funeral Home. Public Wake Services will be 7:00 pm. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 5:00 pm. Tuesday at Stokely Funeral home then continue at the Church. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Guardian Angels or Central Catholic Endowments, St. Joseph’s Retirement Community Foundation or St. Francis Memorial Hospital Foundation. Genevieve was born March 13, 1921 in West Point to John and Ella Peatrowsky Beyer and graduated from Guardian Angels Catholic School in 1938. She attended business college in Omaha. On June 9, 1943, Genevieve married Arthur Buse at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point and the couple farmed north of town. They retired and moved into West Point in 1981. Genevieve was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was active in Catholic Daughters, Christian Mothers, and St. Mary’s Guild. In their retirement, they were active with the Good Life Club and loved to travel. She enjoyed playing cards, loved to garden, and did a lot of canning. Family was the most important thing to her. Genevieve had a great devotion for Our Lady, the Virgin Mary. Survivors include her children, John (Kay) Buse, of Lincoln; Jeanette (Ernie) Belik, Washington, NE; Dennis Buse, West Point; Father Harold Buse, Omaha; Luella Buse, Omaha; Richard (Lisa) Buse, Wahoo; Marietta (Merlin) Merlin Otte, West Point; Ken (Irene) Buse, Wisner; and Virginia Buse, West Point. She has 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Arthur Buse.
