Francis M. Wiese, 94, of West Point, died Sunday, December 19, 2010 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point. Funeral services will be 10:00 am. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church with Reverend Christian Meier officiating. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 8:00 pm. Wednesday with family receiving friends 5:00 pm. until 7:00 pm. Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church for handicap accessible doors. Francis was born December 10, 1916 on a farm near Wisner to William E. F. and Alma Moeller Wiese. In 1921 the family moved to a farm northeast of West Point and Francis attended country School District #45 thru 8th grade. Francis served in the U. S. Army from June 7, 1941 until December 10, 1946. He was stationed in California, the southwest Pacific and Colorado. On April 13, 1943, Francis married Delores Schulzkump in Yuma, AZ. Francis worked as a farm hand for 20 years, then to Scribner Coop, and finally at the West Point Alfalfa Mill, retiring in October of 1996. Francis was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, where he was baptized and confirmed. He served as a Cuming County 4-H leader for 30 years and was a member of the VFW. Survivors include daughter Cherie Heise of West Point, sons, Leon (Donna) of Woodbridge, VA, Brian of West Point and Stuart of Omaha, brother Leonard Wiese of Wisner, grandchildren Christina Wood, Cathern Bergerson, Kelvin “K. J.” Wiese, Sandra Wiese, Patrick Heise, Shane Heise, Keeley Heise and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Delores in 1996, son Keith in 2003, brothers Vern, Wayne, and Delmar and sister Audrey Rodick
