Flora E. Bellar, 86, of Omaha, formerly of West Point, died Saturday, March 3, 2012 in Omaha. Graveside Services will be at 2:00 pm. Tuesday at Holy Cross Cemetery in Beemer followed by coffee and Kolaches at the Beemer American Legion/Senior Center. Those wishing to sign the register book may do so noon until 8:00 pm. Monday at Stokely Funeral Home in West Point. Family will be receiving friends 6:00 pm. until 8:00 pm. Monday at Stokely Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Flora Elizabeth Bellar was born March 30, 1925, in Yonkers, New York, to John and Saveria (Di Fioria) del Duco. Flora attended school in Yonkers and on November 11, 1945, married Floyd E. Bellar. The couple lived in Yonkers and in Carmel, New York, where Flora was a full time homemaker and mother. In 1968 they moved to Beemer, Ne. Following Floyd’s death, Flora began working as a certified Geriatric nurse for nursing homes in Beemer and West Point. In 1978 she moved to West Point, where she commuted to the Norfolk area, providing in home private Geriatric care. Flora moved to Omaha in 2000 and continued working until retiring in 2003.”Nan” lived with her daughter and son in law, having the everydayopportunityto take part in the lives of her 3 granddaughters. She also enjoyed dancing and traveling, cooking and spending time with family. Survivors include daughter Donna (Gary) Broekemeier of Omaha, granddaughters Emily (Dan) Engel, Rachel (Ryan) Aune and Lindsay Broekemeier, great grandchildren Casey Engel and Jarrett Aune, sister Emma Carlo of Hopewell Junction, NY, sisters in law Millie Stutzman of Beemer, and Doris Geist of Denver, CO, brothers in law John (Delores) Bellar of Beemer, Francis (Evelyn) Bellar of Wisner, and Ralph (Gail) Bellar of Harper, KS. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Floyd on August 6, 1972, brothers Anthony and Michael Del Duco, and sister Angelina Rossi.
