Reverend Leo A. Kreikemeier, 88, of West Point, died January 23, 2007 at West Point Living Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am. Saturday at St. Boniface Catholic Church at Monterey, west of West Point, with Most Reverend Elden Francis Curtiss as celebrant. Public Wake Services with Knights of Columbus Rosary will be 7:00 pm. Friday at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Central Catholic or Guardian Angels Endowments. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 3:00 pm. Friday at the funeral home and continue at the church. Those wishing to leave on line condolences may do so at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com. Lunch will be served at Guardian Angels Cafeteria in West Point. Father Leo was born November 19, 1918 at Monterey to Bernard and Bertha Meister Kreikemeier. He attended grade school at St. Boniface Catholic School, high school and college at Conception, MO, graduated from the Kenrick Seminary in St. Louis, MO and was ordained a Roman Catholic Priest on September 18, 1943. He served as Associate Pastor at St. Cecilia Cathedral and St. Rose, both in Omaha and as Pastor of St. Anthony, Platte County, St. Rose, Hooper, St. Lawrence, Scribner, Sts. Peter and Paul, Howells, St. Philip Neri, Omaha, St. Patrick, Tekamah, Holy Family, Decatur and St. Joseph, Platte Center. He retired to Marianna at Cedar Bluffs in June of 1991. Father was instrumental in the founding of Knights of Columbus Councils in Howells and Platte Center and was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. In his retirement, He looked forward to his weekly card game of Sheephead with his friends. Survivors include a sister Bernadine (Eugene) Pieper of Gary, SD, brother John B. (Virginia) Kreikemeier of West Point, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Gertrude Diekemper and Theresa Sellhorst, brothers John, Herman and Joseph.
