Evelyn Blaha, 83, of Dodge, died Sunday October 17, 2010 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point. Funeral Mass 10:00 Thursday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Reverend Patrick McLaughlin as celebrant with burial in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery. Wake services will be 7:00 pm. Wednesday at St. Wenceslaus. Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm. Wednesday and continue until wake time at the church in Dodge. Memorials may be made to the St. Wenceslaus Catholic School or St. Wenceslaus Cemetery. Evelyn was born June 23, 1927, at Dodge to Frank and Bessie Nemec Vodvarka. She attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School and was a Dodge High School graduate. On May 20, 1946, Evelyn married Leo L. Blaha at St. Wenceslaus in Dodge. The couple farmed south of Dodge. Evelyn had been a resident of Park View Nursing Home in Dodge since May of 2009. Evelyn was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and Altar Society. She was very active, along with her husband, in the Dodge Saddle Club. Evelyn enjoyed cooking and gardening. She will be most remembered for being a devoted mother and grandmother. Survivors include son Leo F. (Sandra) Blaha of Dodge, grandchildren Renae (Tom) Vogel, Leann (Michael) Jesse and Leo E. (Tonja) Blaha, great grandchildren Jacob and Elisia Vogel, Katelyn and Haley Jesse, Dalton and Joseph Blaha. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo L. Blaha and a brother Frank Vodvarka.
