Eunice Josephine Lutz, 98 of Lyons, Nebraska died February 1, 2008 at the West Point Living Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 am. Wednesday at Lyons Memorial Methodist Church in Lyons with Reverend Murray Schmechel officiating. Burial will be at Westside Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 8:00 pm. Tuesday with family present 5:00 pm. until 7:00 pm. at Stokely Funeral Home in West Point. A memorial has been established. Eunice was born on March 10, 1909 in Oakland, Nebraska, the daughter of A. William “Will” and Anna (Wistrom) Johnson and grew up on a farm in the area. On February 22, 1933, she was united in marriage to Lawrence “Bud” Lutz. They farmed in Cuming County until retiring and moving to Lyons in 1969. Eunice was very active member of the West Side Methodist Church and was a Kindergarten and First Grade Sunday school Teacher for 23 years. She received a special recognition for over 50 years in the Methodist Women’s Society. She currently was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in Lyons. She served as the Textile and Fancywork Superintendent at the Cuming County Fair from 1957-1969. She also was an active volunteer helping with the elections and the local Blood Mobile blood drive. She volunteered weekly at the Lyons Manor for over 30 years. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, cooking & baking and volunteering. She loved and enjoyed her family very much, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Eunice is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lorelie and Bob Dahlstrom of Rochester, MN and her son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Judy Lutz of West Point, NE; seven grandchildren, Bruce (Brenda) Dahlstrom, Kerri (Jim) Larson, Tammy Lutz (Ty Wagoner), Melissa (Kory) Killingsworth, Kris (Craig) Coy, Angela (Brian) Galloway and Todd (Erin) Lutz; 14 great grandchildren, Kyle and Kory Dahlstrom, Lindsey, Brienne and Ryan Larson, Justice, Noah and Titus Killingsworth, Piper and Halle Jo Coy, Dillion and Madeline Galloway and Parker and Hannah Lutz. She also is survived by her sisters, Mrs. Harry (Viola) Peterson of Omaha, and Mrs. Robert (Blanche) Richards of Phoenix, AZ; brother-in-law, Elmer Anderson of Oakland, NE. sister-in-law, Mrs. Clifford (Violet) Johnson of Oakland and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence “Bud” Lutz on December 10, 1975, brother, Clifford Johnson and sister, Mrs. Elmer (Gladyce) Anderson.
