Eugene Elmer Mandel, 67, of Dodge, died January 24, 2005 at the University Hospital in Omaham.ass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am. Saturday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge with Reverend Mark McKercher as celebrant. Wake Services will 7:30 pm. Friday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Burial will be with military honors at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery at Aloys. Visitation will be 3:00 pm. until 8:00 pm. Friday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Those wishing may sign the register book on line at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com. Stokely Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Eugene was born April 18, 1937 at West Point to Elmer and Adella Bures Mandel. He was raised on the family farm north of Dodge in Cuming County and attended District 18 School. He served in the US Army as a truck driver in Germany from 1956 until 1958. On September 10, 1960 he married Angela Toelle at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point. The couple lived on the farm north of Dodge until moving into Dodge in 1997. Eugene was a farmer and a trucker working for Walter Wolf Trucking, Schuetze Trucking, Steffensmeier Trucking, and with his sons at Mandel Ag, Inc. Eugene was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus and had previously served as a board member for Cooperative Supply in Dodge Survivors include his wife Angie, of Dodge, sons Brian and Kevin both of Dodge, sister Charlene (Marvin) Kucera, brothers David (Gladys) Marvin (Marietta) and Harvey (Mary) all of Dodge, Richard (Diane) of West Point, twin brothers Ray and Roy both of Wayne, brother in law Virgil Schlautman, of West Point, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a daughter Sandra in January of 1986, sister Marlene Schlautman and his parents.
