Eugene Jacobsen, 79, of West Point, formerly of Wisner, died December 21, 2007 at his home. Memorial Services will be 6:00 pm. Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at Stokely Funeral Home with Pastor Enrique Gonzolez officiating. Burial will occur at a later date at the Wisner Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Diabetic program at St. Francis Memorial Hospital. Eugene was born November 26, 1928 in Cuming County, near Wisner to John and Anna Nuernberger Jacobsen. He graduated with the class of 1947 from Wisner High School. From June 29, 1951 until May 30, 1953, Eugene served in the US Army, earning the Bronze Service Medal, United Nations Medal, and Korean Service Medal. Eugene farmed at Wisner, lived in California, settling in West Point in 2003. Survivors include son Rodney Rose of Omaha, sisters Rosemary (Eldon) Lorenzen of Lyons and Ruth (Herbert) Bender of St. Louis, MO, brother Robert Jacobsen of Lyons and brother-in-law Harvey Reimers of Beemer.
