Emma Heimann, 100, of Dodge, died Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Parkview Home in Dodge. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, October 25 at 10:30am at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Snyder. Burial will be at St. Leo’s Cemetery with lunch following at the Snyder City Auditorium. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00am to 2:00pm at Stokely Funeral Home in West Point and continue from 3:00pm to 7:00pm with a Vigil Service at 7:00pm at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Snyder. Memorials may be made to Parkview Home in Dodge. Emma Elizabeth Heimann was born on November 8, 1916 to John and Anna (Kreikemeier) Wiesen on the family farm north of Dodge. She attended school in Dodge and worked as a hired girl for Adolph Kreikemeier. On April 22, 1936, Emma married Victor Heimann at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dodge. The couple farmed northwest of Snyder where Emma was an active farm wife before moving to Snyder in 1975. Emma was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Guild, and Snyder American Legion Auxiliary. She was a wonderful seamstress – making quilts and clothing for her daughters. Emma also had a gift for making homemade apple pie. Survivors include daughters, Mary Ann Wordekemper of Omaha, Lorraine (Gilbert) Ortmeier of Dodge, and Virgene Retzlaff of Lake in the Hills, IL; daughter-in-law, Arlene Heimann of Snyder; grandchildren, Brian Retzlaff, LeAnn Shreve, Jodi Neuvirth, Russell Wordekemper, Patrick Wordekemper, Gail Rasmus, Kelli Read, Steven Ortmeier, Kevin Ortmeier, Jennifer Cooper, Kim Anderson, Lori Crump, Patty Sutton, Larry Heimann, and Jeff Heimann; 32 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Elizabeth French of Boise, ID, Cletus (Dorothy) Wiesen of Canby, MN, and John (Jolene) Wiesen of Fremont. Emma is preceded in death by her husband, Victor; son, Ervin; son-in-law, Tom Wordekemper; grandchildren, Randy Wordekemper, Rodney Wordekemper, Jill Retzlaff, and Mary Ortmeier; great-grandson, Jordan Wordekemper; and siblings, Mary Reeson, Margaret Neeson, and Anthony Wiesen.
