Elsie Frances Mlnarik, 91 of Omaha, formerly, of Dodge died Thursday, April 23, 2009 at BrookestoneHome in Omaham.ass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am. Monday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge with Reverend Patrick McLaughlin as celebrant. Public wake services will be 3:00 pm. Sunday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge. Burial will be at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00 pm. until 5:00 pm. Sunday at the Church in Dodge. Memorials may be made to St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge. Online condolences may be left at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com. Elsie was born December 24, 1917 at Howells to Frank and Frances Pojar Dvorak and grew up on the farm north of Howells. She attended and graduated from Howells public school. On September 14, 1937, Elsie married William “Bill” Mlnarik at St. John Nepocumene in Howells. The couple lived in Dodge where they worked at the Farmers Grain & Lumber Company (Coop), both retiring in 1979. Elsie moved to Omaha in 2003. Elsie was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Guild, Altar Society and Christian Mothers. She was involved with senior groups, the Good Life Club and was an avid card player. Elsie was an artist working with both oils and water colors. What Elsie will most be remembered for was her passion for roses. Elsie was affectionately called the “Rose Lady”. She grew roses, and competed with them at local fairs, The Church Altar was often adorned with roses from her garden. Survivors include daughters Marlene Neesen of Omaha, and Darlene (Ron) Parr of Greensboro, North Carolina, son Dr. David (Jan) Mlnarik of Omaha, 10 grand children, and 23 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill, on March 13, 1989, 4 sisters, 1 brother, son in law Hilary Neesen and a grandson.
