Elaine Hedell, 62, of West Point, died May 21, 2008 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Lincoln of surgical complications. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Reverend Richard Bringewatt officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be noon until 8:00 pm. Friday with family present 6:00 pm. until 8:00 pm. at Stokely Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Radio Broadcast or to the church. On line condolences may be left at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com. Elaine was born June 2, 1945 at Fremont to Ewald and Ida Heinssen Groppe. She attended School Dist. 35 near Scribner and graduated from Dodge High School in 1963. On October 6, 1968 she married Dwaine Hedell at St. John Lutheran Church in Hooper. Elaine worked at Alco and D & L Craft. Currently she worked as part time secretary for the church and at Faith Book and Gifts. Elaine was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid and LWML. She and Dwaine enjoyed square dancing with the Star Lighters Square Dance Club. Elaine was St. Paul Sunday School Treasurer. She enjoyed crafting and always put others first. Survivors include her husband, Dwaine, of West Point, daughter Lynette, (John) Mandl of Stanton, son Steven (Alicia) Hedell of Norfolk, granddaughters LeAnn and Ashley Mandl, sister Karen (David) Karl of Bellevue, brother in law Lynn (Royann) Hedell of Lavista, nephew Paul (Kristin) Karl and niece Cheryl (Mark) Paeth. She is preceded in death by her parents.
