Edward William Groene, 80, of rural West Point, died March 4, 2005 at West Point Living Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am. Monday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church at Aloys. Public Wake services will be 7:30 pm. Sunday at Stokely Funeral in West Point. Visitation will be 9:00 am. till 8:30 pm. Sunday at Stokely Funeral Home. Edward was born on the family farm near Aloys on November 23, 1924 to Ferdinand and Margaret Stieren Groene and attended St. Aloysius Catholic School at Aloys. He raised hogs and farmed his entire life on that same farm until his 1993 retirement. He enjoyed going to farm shows. Edward was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Survivors include his sisters Gertrude Groene and Elizabeth Ernesti of West Point, and Teresa Peatrowsky of Fremont, bothers Hubert of West Point, and twins John and Clemens of Howells, several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Joseph and Paul.
