Dwayne Orville Hammond, 64, of rural Beemer, died Sunday, January 27, 2008 at his home. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am. Friday at Ames Church in Ames, Nebraska. There will be no visitation. Stokely Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Dwayne was born July 30, 1943 in Fremont to Ervin and Louise Watt Hammond but was raised by his grandparents, Charles and Elsa Hammond. He attended school in Inglewood. On April 9, 1964 he married Ellea Joyce Wiseman. The couple lived in various communities settling in the West Point area. Dwayne worked as a gas station attendant, truck driver and welder. Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of rural Beemer, daughters Tina McClain of Oakland, Christine (Rodney) Jackson, of West Point, sons Mike Hammond(Tammy Paige) of Cook and Richard Hammond (Laurie Dover) of Kansas City, MO, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 5 brothers, 1 step brother, 1 sister, 1 step-sister, and 3 half sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
