Dorothy Bertha Radecker, 81, of West Point, NE died February 23, 2005 at The West Point Living Center in West Point. Funeral Services will be Saturday at 2:00 pm. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point with Reverend Robert Hedtke officiating. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 am. 8:30 pm. Friday with family receiving friends 6:00 to 8:00 followed by VFW Auxiliary Rites at 8:00 all at Stokely Funeral Home. Visitation will continue at the church Saturday morning from 9:00 am. till service time. Dorothy was born December 4, 1923, on a farm near Bancroft, Nebraska to Daniel and Louise Koehler Ross. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church near Bancroft. She is a 1941 graduate of Bancroft High School. Dorothy taught Cuming County Rural Schools until her November 8, 1947 marriage to Franklin Radecker at St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point. Dorothy was involved in the County 4-H program serving as a leader for 17 years. In 1971, she became a member of the West Point Elementary staff as a Para-educator in the Special Ed Department for 22 years. Dorothy was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was active with Sunday school and Vacation Bible School, and serving in many other church related organizations. She was also a member of VFW Post 4512 Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include her daughters Nancy (Doug) Blum of Lincoln, Karen (Bill) gartner of Omaha, NE , sister Lorena Ross of West Point, grandchildren Wendy (Lance) Koll, Michele and Adam Gartner, great grandchildren Baiylie, Hunter, and Madison Koll, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Franklin, sisters Elsie Smith, Hulda Ehlers, Bertha Mohl, Verona Bargholz and Louise Jirovsky, brothers Leonard, Ray, Herbert, and Daniel.
