Dorothy M. Meyer, 85, of West Point, formerly of Howells, died Sunday, May 20, 2007, at West Point Living Center. Services will be 10:30 am. Wednesday at Trinity Church in West Point with Reverend John Gradwohl officiating. Burial will be in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery north of Howells. Visitation will be noon until 8:00 pm. Tuesday with family receiving friends 6:00 pm. until 8:00 pm. at Stokely Funeral Home in West Point. Dorothy was born July 21, 1921 on the family farm in Cuming County to Gustav and Ella Clausen Schroeder and was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church on the county line. She graduated from Uehling High School and attended Cosmetology School in Omaha, where she was later employed. On April 30, 1954, she married Earl M. Meyer at St. John’s Lutheran Church on the county line. The couple farmed in the Howells area. Dorothy moved into West Point in 2006. Dorothy was a member of Trinity Church. Survivors include a grandson, Eric, brother Robert (Doris) Schroeder of Kearney. She is preceded in death by her husband, infant daughter Mary Beth, son Robert Earl, sister Corrine Hasemann and brothers Raymond and Wayne Schroeder.
