Dorothy Helen Giese, 90 of West Point died Friday November 27th, 2009 at Colonial Haven Nursing Home in Beemer. Funeral Services will be 10:30 am. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Reverend Richard Bringewatt officiating. Burial will be Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 8:00 pm. Monday at Stokely Funeral Home with family receiving friends 5:00 pm. until 7:00 pm. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church and School. Dorothy was born February 13, 1919 at Craig to John and Caroline Heinemann. On February 1942, she married Arnold Giese. The couple farmed until moving into West Point in 1970. Dorothy loved Gardening, quilting, crafts, reading, bird watching, going to auctions and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ladies Aide and Quilting Circle. Survivors include son Stanley (Linda) Giese of West Point, daughters Judy (Melvin) Fehrer of West Point and Peggy (Ken) Johnson of Casper, Wyoming, sisters Betty Peterson of Bancroft and Helen Steiner of Whiting, Iowa, brothers Bernard (June) Heinemann of Idaho and Walter Heinemann of Dakota City, sisters in law Millie Heinemann, and Ellen Heinemann, brother in law Frank Finley of Arkansas, 5 grand children 11 great grandchildren and one on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband Arnold, parents, brothers John, Otto, Adolph, Clarence, George, and sisters Emma, Alice and Margaret.
