Dorothea Marie Peterson, 95 of West Point died August 1, 2006 at the West Point Living Center. Memorial Services will be 11:00 pm. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church with Reverend Don Olson officiating. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 8:00 pm. Thursday at Stokely Funeral Home with family present 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Memorial Hospital Foundation. Those wishing to leave on line condolences may do so at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com. Dorothea was born December 3, 1910 on the farm north east of West Point to Henry and Matie Prawitz Stoltzman. She attended country school, Beemer Elementary and High School. On October 21, 1934, she married Clarence “Bert” Peterson at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point. The couple farmed north east of West Point. Dorothea moved into St. Joseph’s retirement Community in 1997 then to the Living Center in 1999. Dorothea was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, the Bancroft Garden Club, Liberty Club, Daughters of Union Veterans, and a Domino Club. Dorothea enjoyed home making, gardening and traveling. She took great pride in exhibiting her produce at the fair. Survivors include daughter Mardell (Terry) Daberkow of Scribner, sons Lance (Donna) Peterson and Neal Peterson both of West Point, and a special sister Delilah Abendroth of West Point, 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bert, in 1990, daughter and son in law Twyla and Don Slagle, son in law Dean Schnoor and a great granddaughter.
