Donald Richard Meyer, 80, of Oakland, died August 27, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm. Thursday at St. John’s Lutheran Church on the County Line with Reverend Betty Hadley officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 8:00 pm. Wednesday at Stokely Funeral Home in West Point with family receiving friends6:00 pm. until 8:00 pm. Cremation will follow the services with burial in the church cemetery at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Don’s family wishes. Donald was born June 18, 1927 at Oakland to Gustof J. and Eda Suhr Meyer. He attended District 36 grade school and was a 1946 Wisner High School graduate. Donald farmed with his father and brother Orville, recently retiring. in 1992 he maried Bernita Johnson, they later seperated. Donald was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church on the County Line where he was baptized and confirmed. Survivors include brothers Lavern (Donna) of, Boyden, IA, Lowell (Lola) of Fremont and Orville (Dana) of West Point. He is preceded in death by his parents.
