Donald Johnson, 82, of West Point died Saturday, May 17, 2014, at St. Francis Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:30am Saturday, May 31, at Grace Lutheran Church, with Reverend Christian Meier officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Pioneer Cemetery east of West Point. Visitation will be 9:00am until 8:00pm Friday, May 30, at Stokely Funeral Home, with family receiving friends 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Memorials may be made to American Legion. Donald Leon Johnson was born February 22, 1932 in Omaha to Clifford and Marion (Hansen) Johnson. He attended Wahoo Elementary School, graduated from West Point High School in 1950, and served in the United States Army from January 1953 until January 1955. On April 17, 1958, Don married Carol Sellentin at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point. Don was an original investor in Grain States Soya and Rock County Feeds, worked in the family rendering business, and retired in 1999. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, American Legion, Eagles where he served as president, Rolling Eagles Camping Club, and lifetime member of Good Sam Club. Don enjoyed boating and racing stock cars. Survivors include his daughter Carrie Johnson (Randy Brock) of Valentine; sons Scott (Erin) Johnson and Dan’DJ’ (Genene) Johnson of West Point; grandchildren Eric Johnson, Trenten (Abigail) Dohmen, Matthew Brock, Kylie Johnson (Aaron Spenner), Kristy Johnson, Aleasha Johnson (Danny Rodriguez), Amanda Brock, and Greg Johnson; and great-granddaughter Kaydence Voyles.
