Delwyn Lavern Wegner, 75, formerly of West Point, died May 9, 2009 at University Hospital in Omaha. Funeral services will be 10:30 am. Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point with Reverend Richard Bringewatt officiating. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 8:00 pm. Tuesday at Stokely Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church. Delwyn was born October 10, 1933 on a farm north west of Scribner to William and Hulda Hoge Wegner. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran church near Scribner. He attended school at District 25, graduated from Scribner High School in 1950 and attended Omaha School of Commerce. After graduation he worked at the Snyder Bank until it closed. He then moved off the farm to West Point and went to work at the bank. Delwyn then worked at the newspaper until his retirement. In September of 2008, because of illness, he moved to Papillion to live with his sister. Delwyn was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Survivors include his sister Inez Clark of Papillion, nephew Ronald (Trisha) and children Jackson and Davis Clark of Papillion, niece Lynette (Randy) McCart and children Michael and John(Merielle) and children Joshua and Liliana McCart of Merietta, Georgia, niece Susan Clark (Rick Erban) and children Sydney Gard and Gabrielle Gard and son Jaydin. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother and wife Alvin and Delores Wegner and niece Rhonda Wegner.
