Delores M. Suhr, 82 of Scribner, died November 1, 2006, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Scribner. Services will be 10:30 am. Saturday at United Lutheran Church in Scribner with Reverend Nicki McIntyre officiating. Burial will be at the Pebble Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 8:00 pm. with family present 6:00 pm. until 8:00 pm. Memorials may be made to the Scribner American Legion Auxiliary or United Lutheran Church. Delores was born January 25, 1924 on the family farm south east of West Point in Cuming County to Adolph and Alma Hilbers Havekost. She attended rural elementary school and graduated from Scribner High School with the class of 1941. She worked for several families in the area before her marriage to Lenard Suhr on January 11, 1948 at St. John’s Ridgley Lutheran Church. The couple farmed before moving into Scribner in 1954. There, Delores did cleaning jobs including the Scribner Bank for 19 years, retiring in 1997. In 2003, she became a resident of Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Scribner. Delores was a member of United Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir. She also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include her daughters Joyce Low of Edmonds Washington and Diane Suhr of Omaha, sons Larry of Scribner and Dennis (Joyce) of West Point, sisters Elvera Davis and Mildred Sorensen both of Fremont, Ethel (Stanley) Stuehmer of Scribner and Betty (Howard) Siegfried of Tulsa, Oklahoma, a brother Milton (Bonnie) Havekost of Fremont, 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lenard, in October of 2003, daughter Doris Suhr in July of 1978 and a brother Donald Havekost.
