Delmer D. “Curly” Schulzkump, 80 of West Point, died October 29, 2006 at the Pender Hospital following an accident. Services will be 10:30 am. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point with Reverend Don Olson officiating. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery with Military Honors graveside. There will be a prayer service 7:00 pm. Wednesday at Stokely Funeral Home. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 8:00 pm. at Stokely Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Delmer was born September 29, 1926 on the farm south east of West Point in Cuming County to John and Maria Mauer Schulzkump. He attended School District 46 and served in the US Army from April 6, 1953 until March 17, 1955. On September 28, 1958 he married Mary Wooldrik at Grace Lutheran Church. Curly worked as trucker driving straight truck and semi from 1954 to 1972. He then worked for the West Point Coop until retiring in 1991 and ran the corn sheller for Larry Landholm. Delmer was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. He enjoyed mechanics. Survivors include his wife Mary of Nickerson, son Delwin of Nickerson, daughter in law Janelle Schulzkump of West Point, brother Orion (Louise) of West Point, grandchildren Laurie, Louis, and Lonnie and great grandchildren Taylor and Latoya. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandson Lucas, granddaughter Tina, sisters Laverna Hoffman and Delores Wiese, brothers Lawrence, Arland, Kenneth, Amos, Boyd, Gordon and Walter.
