David Reicks, 74, of West Point, died on April 25, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Hillside Villa. Funeral Service will be 11:00am on Friday May 2 at Stokely Funeral Home in West Point with Rev. Priscilla Hukki officiating. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery with lunch following at Grace Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Arrangement by Stokely Funeral Home.
David was born on October 9, 1950, in Sutherland to Ambrose and Rose (Beckman) Reicks. He grew up on a ranch near Spalding and graduated from Wheeler County High School in 1968. He went on to Milford Technical College, earning a degree in Electrical Technology in 1970.
On June 9, 1973, David married Suzann Furstenau in West Point. In 1978, he started Reicks Electric, serving the West Point area with pride and dedication until his retirement in 2022. David truly loved his work and took great joy in helping others through his craft.
Outside of work, David enjoyed collecting antique tractors, especially Massey Harris models. He also loved listening to polka music and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter Cindy Reicks of Omaha; grandchildren, Kyler, Sena, and Jack Essink; brother, Ed (Joyce) Reicks; sister, Karen (Kevin) Esch; sister-in-law, Bev Reicks; son-in-law, Brandon Essink; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Suzann in 2002; daughter, Carrie Essink in 2021; and brothers, Jim and Bob.
