Cynthia Petersen, age 51, died Thursday, May 3, 2012 at her home in Lincoln, NE. Memorial service will be 1:30 Tuesday, May 8th, at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point with family present 1 hour prior to service time at church. Reverend Chris Meier will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, West Point. Stokely Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association or Grace Lutheran Church. Cynthia Louise Petersen was born April 25, 1961 in West Point, NE to Norman and Lily (Huntemann) Petersen. She attended Dist. 33 country school, was a 1979 graduate of West Point High School, a 1984 graduate from the University of Nebraska Lincoln, and with a medical transcriptionist degree from Southeast Community College. Cindy was most recently employed at Bryan LGH Hospital in Lincoln. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing. She lived with her diagnosis of diabetes since age 17. She is survived by her parents, Norman and Lily Petersen of Lyons; sisters Lorrie (David) Ulrich of Lyons, Sara (Scott) Willers of Pilger; nephew Bryce Ulrich; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandparents.
