Prinz, 68, of Lincoln, died Friday, August 14, 2026 at Bryan Medical Center after a courageous 6-year battle with cancer.  Memorial Mass will be 10:30am on Monday, August 17, at St John the Apostle Catholic Church, 7601 Vine St., in Lincoln.  Lunch will follow at the school gymnasium.  Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at church.  Visitation will continue Tuesday, August 18 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Stokely Funeral Home in West Point.  Burial will be at a later date.  Memorials may be made to the St. John the Apostle Catholic Church Endowment or Lincoln Northeast Kiwanis.  Arrangements by Stokely Funeral Home in West Point.

Connie Jean Prinz was born on January 13, 1958, in West Point to Kenneth and Betty (Wolfe) Guenther. She attended country school before continuing her education at West Point Central Catholic High School, graduating in 1976. Connie went on to attend Midland College, where she earned a degree in business.

On August 4, 1979, Connie married Bill Prinz at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point. In 1984, the couple moved to Lincoln, where they made their home and raised their three daughters. Connie worked as a teller at the Goodyear Credit Union before beginning a long career with State Farm as an underwriter. She retired in 2020.  In 2001, Connie and Bill returned to West Point, where they lived for 10 years before moving back to Lincoln.

Connie’s Catholic faith was an important part of her life. She was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Lincoln, where she was very active in parish life. She participated in multiple Bible study groups and was a devoted daily Mass attendee. Connie also belonged to the Lincoln Northeast Kiwanis Club.

Serving others came naturally to Connie, and volunteering was one of her greatest passions. She generously gave her time wherever she could and found great joy in helping others and being involved in her community.

Connie also enjoyed shopping and was an enthusiastic sports fan, but nothing was more important to her than her family. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She rarely missed one of their activities and made every effort to attend the activities and special occasions of her extended family as well.

Connie is survived by her husband, Bill of Lincoln; daughters,

  • Leah (Nic) Bethune of Lincoln – William and Shelby
  • Hannah Prinz (Chris Valleley) of Omaha – Sawyer, Jess and Jacob
