Connie (Demuth) Wimmer, 76, of West Point, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2023 with her family by her side.

Memorial services will be Saturday, August 5 at 10:30 am at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point with Rev. Priscilla Hukki officiating.  The service will also be live-streamed on the Stokely Funeral Home Facebook page at facebook.com/stokelyfuneralhome. Inurnment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery with lunch following at the church hall.  Visitation will be Friday from 12:00pm to 7:00pm with family present from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Stokely Funeral Home in West Point.  In lieu of flowers, Connie would like memorials sent to Grace Lutheran Church and Franciscan Healthcare Home Health and Hospice.  Arrangements by Stokely Funeral Home.

Connie was born on November 10, 1946 to George and Martha (Zitek) Demuth in David City. After high school in Seward, she attended nursing school at St. Elizabeth’s in Lincoln where she met the love of her life, Dave. They settled in West Point where they raised their two daughters. Connie left nursing to raise her daughters and later pursued her career with Mary Kay Cosmetics, for which she became a successful sales director for 42 years. She loved serving women in her community.

Connie was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church where she served on the church council and sang for decades in the choir. She was also an avid bowler, softball player (Marv’s 275) and golfer. Connie loved tending her many flowers and summer vegetable garden. She and Dave enjoyed traveling together, and they enjoyed many trips with the West Point community travel group.  Connie was a proud mother and grandmother to her daughters and four grandchildren, and family was always very important to her.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, George and Martha Demuth; brother, David Demuth; parents-in-law, Harold and Dolores Wimmer; brother-in-law, Stephen Wimmer; and sister-in-law, Mary Wimmer.

She is survived by her husband of over 52 years, Dave Wimmer; daughters, Alison (Jens) Schmieder and their daughters, Hannah and Elise, of Houston, TX and Holly (Jeremy) Hunke and their children, Hayden and Mia, of West Point. She is also survived by two sisters, Paula Volker and Pam Hutchison; and brother, Mike Demuth, and a host of nieces and nephews.
