Clement’Clem’ Knobbe, 92, of West Point, died Thursday, July 7, 2016 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, July 9 at 10:30am at St. Boniface Catholic Church at Monterey with Reverend Steve Emanuel as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Boniface Cemetery with lunch following at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church hall in Dodge. Visitation will be Friday from 12:00pm to 4:00pm at Stokely Funeral Home and continue at St. Boniface from 5:00pm until 7:00pm with a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:00pm. Memorials may be made to GACC School or the Cuming County Fair. Clement Joseph Knobbe was born on March 13, 1924 to Joseph and Anna (Meiergerd) Knobbe at Monterey on the family farm, which was purchased in 1881, and attended St. Boniface School. On October 5, 1948, Clem married Mildred Kleffner at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge. The couple made their home on the family farm. In 2013, they retired to St. Joseph’s Retirement Community before moving to Dodge. Clem was an active member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus. He served on the Board of Directors for the Cooperative Supply in Dodge and Cuming County Feeders Association in addition to the Central Catholic School Board and Dodge Development Board. Clem loved to drive through the countryside to survey the land and travel. Clem is survived by his wife, Mildred, of Dodge; children Joan (Peter) Lieben of Omaha, Paul (Kim) of Dodge, Pat (Stephanie) of West Point, and Glen (Susan) of Imperial; grandchildren Zach Lieben, Ben Lieben, Abby Knobbe, Jackie (Justin) Poulas, Amy (Ryan) Guerra, Ryan (Libby) Knobbe, Kylie (Brandon) Dirkschneider, Nathan (Kelly) Knobbe, Miranda Knobbe, Jared Knobbe, and Darin Knobbe; great-grandchildren Allie, Delaney, Jaden, Ayva, Cale, Makenna, Madeline, Amiah, Kash, Kole, Kade, and Kort; sister Valeria Schlecht of West Point and brother Harry (Doris) Knobbe of West Point. Clem is preceded in death by his parents, sister Elsie (Bud) Mahlberg, brother-in-law Dennis Schlecht, infant brother Herbert, and great-granddaughter Tanna.
